I’ve always been a tomboy, and as long as I’ve been able to talk I’ve been letting people know that. Starting when I was little, and adults would tell me I was cute or pretty- I would tell them “I don’t want to be pretty, I want to be smart!”. I was banned from buying boys’ clothing by my parents because it was all I wore, and I told my mom I wanted to be like a boy and not a girl because girls weren’t allowed to do anything cool.  Cut forward, got my hair cut short, and I dress very androgynously now.  The thing is, I really genuinely love being female, and being a girl, but as long as I can do my own thing I’ll be a tomboy.
